I'm having a problem with satellite dish providers, primarily "Direct TV."  I wrote a letter to their corporate office over two years ago telling them to stop installing on roofs, fire escapes, siding, etc.  They don't care.  Their installers drill through siding, jam support pipes in waste vents on the roof, etc.  When I try and put in a damage claim they expect me to jump through hoops sending them letters, photos, estimates, etc. before they will consider taking any action.  They tell me that if they have an authorization from the tenant stating that the landlord OKed it, they are absolved of any responsibility.  Has anyone had any luck getting them to stop installations (outside of the tenant's apartment or balcony) or getting any damages?  Any recommendations?

Moving forward you might want to include a clause in your lease that satellite dishes are not allowed in, on or around the building without the written consent of the Landlord (you) and that any dishes installed illegally (ie: without permission) will be removed with Tenant being responsible for any repair or damage caused by the installation and/or removal.

I agree with Gregg.  Make it the Tenant's responsibility to get your permission, not Dish TV, and make the tenant pay for damages to the building and send a Notice to Cease if it is installed without your permission.
